We are looking for a Product Developer for the baselayer category
In this position you will be responsible for developing our base and midlayer collection as well as accessories.
To develop briefed products based on the category’s design direction and target costs.
To stay updated on market news & development, competitor products, Key Account assortments and other critical product info related to allocated categories.
Responsible for product development from proto sample to counter sample, including: tech pack creation, prototype reviews, product fit, pricing and vendor communication.
To deliver products according to Helly Hansen quality standards and assure product margins.
Maintain an accurate database of BOM information that will result in efficient raw material purchasing and accurately produced finished products.
Critically review and negotiate prices towards a price target for all prototypes. Manage the costing process to ensure consistent, accurate cost sheets are received from all vendors and approvals are clearly communicated internally and externally.
Work in collaboration with the Pattern team to ensure products meet established fit and measurement standards.
Coordinate all factory communication throughout development process to ensure accurate material sourcing, costing, and successful execution of product.
To meet design and development deadlines for product commercialization.
To carry out other related duties and instructions as required by Development Director.
Design – Seamless cooperation with design team to create best possible product from a performance, aesthetic and price perspective.
Category management – work closely with category team in creation of the seasonal collection.
Suppliers – building and maintaining excellent working relationships with suppliers development/merchandising teams to develop world class products. Travelling as and when required to the Far East and Europe.
Knowledge, skills and experience
3+ years’ experience in product development or production
Knowledge of apparel construction, material construction and properties, pattern making, costing, bill of materials, embroidery and surface applications (e.g. screen printing, etc)
Proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers.
A good team player and self-propelled.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Extreme attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Extensive knowledge of raw materials.
Technical construction and sourcing.
Fluent in English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Abode Illustrator / PLM
