Helly Hansen is looking for a Global Project Manager Brand Partnerships
We are looking for a person with strong project management experience, capable of balancing brand and commercial relevance & cost of brand partnerships. For the initial focus of the role, this person leads and coordinates internal and external partners alike. The experience with sport events/race village management is important.
MISSION
For the first year or so, focus of this role will be lead the project management to establish the official merchandising store in the race villages of the 7 stop-overs of The Ocean Race 22/23. Double reporting into a) VP Mktg & Brand Partnerships and b) European Retail Director.
Over time, this role is planned to transition to Global Project Manager Brand Partnerships to identify, manage, drive & leverage brand partnerships. Reporting into VP Mktg & Brand Partnerships.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Project Manager to establish TOR 22/23 race village stores:
Project Management
Coordination with;
Helly Hansen Sales & Retail teams in stop-over countries (Spain, South Africa, US, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy)
Retail concept/ fulfillment agency, other suppliers
Helly Hansen Retail Marketing teams, Helly Hansen regional Marketing teams
Competitive apparel brand that want to sell their team’s merch through the Helly Hansen The Ocean Race store
Stop-over retail coordinator
Forecasting & Planning of stock
Other Helly Hansen departments (logistics, Finance, etc.)
Project P&L responsibility
Regular updates to management & other stakeholders
Initiate sub-License distribution agreement for stop-overs where Helly Hansen does not have a subsidiary (Cape Verde, Brazil)
2. Global Project Manager Brand Partnerships:
Leads/support project management for selective global brand partnerships, such as The Ocean Race sailing teams, Americas Cup teams, National Alpine Ski teams, Search & Rescue organizations, etc.
Negotiates contracts in partnership with legal department and all other involved/touched departments.
Steers and coordinates the entire Helly Hansen team (global & local) for the successful implementation of all contractual rights & obligations.
Builds, fosters & drives relationships with current & future partners.
Proactively screens & identifies brand partnership opportunities within the global Sport Marketing Strategy along key activities of Skiing, Sailing, Outdoor & Work-Wear.
Further builds & develops playbook of how to extract the optimal, mutual value from brand partnerships.
Builds framework how to evaluate the value of brand partnerships to Helly Hansen and initiates a review process/ monitoring routine.
Shares best practices within the HH network.
Explores Activation opportunities beyond current status quo.
Identifies key BtoB partners & business opportunities and utilizing them with networking and interaction with the respective business unit.
Point of contact & facilitator to sailing teams in The Ocean Race 22/23 wearing Helly Hansen. In cooperation with respective project management team.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED
5+ years of project management lead of international projects with variety of stakeholders.
Event management (on-site/pop-up retail plus).
Sport Marketing partnership management (either side, sponsor or asset), incl. contract negotiation/ legal assessment.
Direct to consumer Sales and/or Marketing background/ education preferred.
Strong operational knowledge of marketing tools and tactics and the skills to align resources to achieve objectives.
Self-starter, taking initiative to drive projects independently.
Ability to lead strategically with ability to also execute (getting things done).
Experience & knowledge of sport apparel industry.
The ability to inspire, lead and manage internal and external resources and colleagues. Strong indirect leadership skills.
Willing to multitasks and work under pressure.
Superior communications skills.
Proficient user of Microsoft office products.
Experience working within a global, matrix organization of advantage.
Language skills – must be fluent in written and spoken English. Ideally language skills with one (or more) other European languages (written & orally).
College degree / MBA preferred.
Ability to travel internationally up to 25%, mostly EU (will depend by project status & time of the year). Office location Oslo, Norway. Munich, Germany or London, UK, might be an option as well (depending on profile of candidate).
Office location is flexible to either Oslo, London or Munich - depending on the candidates' location.
