Join the Helly Hansen Product team / Fabric ManagerHelly Hansen, a leading manufacturer of high-performance outdoor clothing, is seeking a Fabric Manager to join our global operating Materials Team. With experience in innovation and material management procedures to support the Helly Hansen team – Workwear and Sportwear.
Helly Hansen is producing garments in Far East and Europe with all developments and nominations done in-house in cooperation with various suppliers globally. The Helly Hansen materials team is responsible for the initial selection and sourcing process as well as the seasonal follow up. The Fabric Manager role is the interface between our Design and Development Team and our global material partners. Actively participating in developing new fabrics, improving carry over fabrics and thoroughly following up from the initial stage towards the final product.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Fabric sourcing for all Helly Hansen categories within Work Wear and Sport - woven and knit, technical, casual and certified.
Daily external communication with our Hong Kong sourcing office and our global suppliers (in English).
Daily internal communication with our Design and Development Teams as well as Category and Product Management (English language, Norwegian language if applicable).
Fabric project management for fabric developments with ownership for follow up and completion.
Daily work with the physical samples as well as dedicated work within our database.
Quality and Color consolidation - implementation of processes and structures where needed.
Leadtime, minimum and price negotiations with our nominated suppliers.
Material sustainability focus to support the Helly Hansen sustainability team.
Quality follow up and control.
Knowledge and skills

Technical fabric education with a degree, with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
Sufficient technical and chemical knowledge. Familiar with various membrane technologies.
Experienced in the cooperation with Asian and European fabric mills.
Good knowledge of quality and testing standards.
Skilled in Excel, illustrator and experience in a PLM system is an advantage.
Fluent in English and confident to negotiate.
Familiar with all relevant sustainability tools like Higg Index, bluesign System, Oekotex.
Confident in sharing knowledge via material clinics and workshops internally and externally.
Confident in travelling international.
